Welcome to Birgittas Child Village
The Africans who lives in the village are the once who named the village Birgittas Child Village. The work is financed by collections from children in Sweden, gifts, donations and Birgitta and Anders own funds.
BIRGITTA - Birgitta Josephsons was mostly raised in Africa because of her parents Hugo and Elna Lindholm who worked in Africa as missionaries for over 60 years. Her interest for children and healthcare started when she spent time with her mother during her work among the women and children in the African villages. That made Birgitta later in life to study to become a nurse and later midwife. When Birgitta goes to Zambia she loves spending time with the children and the people who lives in the village. She wants to be updated in the childrens progress in school and their health situation. Some of the children has AIDS and spends a lot of time in hospital. Something that Birgittas child Village pays for.
